A centre forward (b 31/10/73) who played over 200 league games for Colchester United, and Brentford before going non league with teams such as Chesham United, Kettering Town, Canvey Island, Heybridge Swifts and Wivenhoe Town. Signed from Wivenhoe at the start of the 2005/06 season and made his debut against Lewes on 16th July 2005, and played throughout the 2005/06 season. His contract saw him with the club in season 2006/07 and he was appointed joint Vice-Captain. A series of niggling injuries restricted his appearances at the start of the season, and on 25th November 2006, his contract was terminated by mutual consent. On the opening day of the 2007/08 Ridgeons League season, 11th August 2007 he appeared for Halstead Town and scored and remained with them until the end of the season. In the summer of 2008 he had a knee operation. In July 2009 he did a sponsored cycle ride from John O’ Groats to Lands End. In November 2009 he rejoined Halstead Town helping out with first team coaching. In April 2010 he played again for the club. At the start of the 2010/11 he was not with any club, but on 17th October 2010 he turned out for the Colchester United Legends along with a number of other AFC players. In January 2011 he joined up with Jodie Brown as part of the management team at Redbridge, but left at the end of the 2010/11 season. In September 2012 he was taking part in Triathlons and on 7th October he completed one in Barcelona. Being a co-commentator on Colchester United for BBC Essex became another string to his bow in December 2012. On 5th October 2013 Brantham Athletic announced that he had been appointed as first team head coach. On 13th April 2014 he completed the London Marathon in 3hrs 37 mins. He started the 2014/15 season with 'The Blue Imps' but on 18th January 2015 he resigned his position as manager. On 2nd October 2015 he was announced as Assistant Manager at Heybridge Swifts where he remained until the end of the season. On 8th June 2016 he announced that he had left the club. On 6th August he had returned to Brantham Athletic as their Assistant Manager. He was also involved with the Colchester United Academy looking after their U14's EJA side. On 22nd August 2016 the Suffolk FA announced him as one of joint managers of the county’s Under-18 Representative side for the 2016-17 season. He relinquished his post at Brantham Athletic on 5th January 2017 and stood dow from his role with the Suffolk FA at the end of the season. On 25th July 2017 he was announced as part of the coaching team at Maldon and Tiptree. In 2017/18 he was still with the Colchester United U15's side.

Steve Adams

A young central defender, (b 8/02/90) when he joined the club from Long Melford in December 2008 to play reserve team football, he had a taste of first team football when he was named as a substitute on 17th January 2009. He remained with the club at the start of the 2009/10 season and was still there in April 2010. He re-signed again for the 2010/11 season and was still with the club in November 2010. At the end of the season he was the winner of the Reserve Players Player of the Year. He continued with the club in 2011/12 and in September 2011 he was promoted to the first team squad, however after an injury he reverted back to the reserves in February 2012. He returned to King’s Marsh for the 2012/13 season playing in the reserve side and did so in August 2013 for the 2013/14 season. In March 2014 he made a return to first team action but later broke his nose which curtailed his appearances. On 27th June 2014 Long Melford announced that he had re-joined them. He was still with them in March 2015 and he Captained the side to the Thurlow Nunn First Division Championship on 25th April 2015. In December 2015 he was still with the Stoneylands club and he continued to the end of the 2015/16 season with them. The 2016/17 season saw him remain with Long Melford and played for them throughout the season. He has continued to play for Long Melford and is still a player for them as at 16th August 2018

Tom Agricole

A 23 year old midfield or defensive player, (b 17/3/87) when he joined AFC for pre-season in July 2010 having previously been with Needham Market and before that Bury Town. He spent a year in America on a ‘soccer’ scholarship, and has represented the University of Hertfordshire. Injury and studies prevented him making too many appearances and on 11th December 2010 he signed and played for Felixstowe and Walton United. He remained with them and played against AFC on 9th August 2011. On 17th July 2012 he was in the Walsham le Willows team that played against AFC in a pre-season friendly and continued with them once the season started. He was still with them at the start of the 2013/14 season July 2013 and played throughout the season. At the start of the 2014/15 season and in September 2014 he was still with the Summer Road club. He missed the 2015/16 season but returned for the 2016/17 season playing early in the season before getting injured.

Stuart Ainsley

Born 19/01/88 he started his career as a defender with the Ipswich Town Academy and was with them for nearly ten years. He was released and joined Chelmsford City in 2006 and remained with them as a midfielder until October 2008 when he briefly signed for Needham Market. He however signed for Canvey Island on 25th October and made his debut the same day. He signed for AFC on 8th July 2009, but was released on 7th January 2010 before joining Felixstowe and Walton United three days later. On 10th July 2010 he played as a triallist for Lowestoft Town, and ten days later had signed a two year contract with the club. He was still with the club in November 2010, and remained there at the start of the 2011/12 season and played throughout it. He was still with Lowestoft at the start of the 2012/13 season and still there in December 2012. He continued with the Crown Meadow club in July 2013 and at the end of the 2013/14 season was in the squad that won promotion to the Conference. On 11th June 2014 it was announced that a mutual agreement had been reached to not to renew his contract for the 2014/15 season. He signed for Felixstowe and Walton United on 3rd July 2014 and was still there in April 2015. He returned for the 2015/16 season and was still with the Dellwood Avenue club in December 2015. He remained with them at the start of the 2016/17 season and was playing for them on 27th December 2016 and remained until the end of the season. At the start of the 2017/18 season he was still with 'The Seasiders" and played for them on 27th January 2018. He won a runners up medal with them at the end of the season as the club won promotion. On 1st June 2018 they announced he would be with them for the 2018/19 season.

James Akintunde

A second year scholar (b 29/03/96) from Cambridge United, a forward/wide player, he joined the club on non-contract forms on 24th January 2014 and made his debut at Harlow Town four days later. His proper first names are Oluwaseun Ewerogba, he had previous experience with the Southend United youth set-up. On 21st February his time at the club was extended by another month and indeed he played until the end of the 2013/14 season. In early April 2014 he earned a two year professional contract with Cambridge United. In August 2014 he went on loan to Histon and was still there in December 2014. On 6th January 2015 the loan finished and he returned to Cambridge United. On 14th February 2015 he appeared as a late substitute for their first team in a Football League game, his only other first team appearance had been as a sub in an FA Trophy game. On 6th May 2015 he was given a new contract at the U's. In the middle of October 2015 he went on a months loan to Brackley Town scoring on his debut on 17th October. He remained with them until the end of the year before returning to Cambridge United. On 4th March he signed a loan deal with Needham Market and played for them the next day. At the start of the 2016/17 season he went on trial with Chester FC where he netted a hat trick at Marine in a pre-season friendly. He was signed on by them shortly afterwards, and played for them on 29th August 2016. He was still with them on 26th January 2017. On 2nd May 2017 he signed a contract to stay with them for the 2017/18 season and played for them on 23rd January 2018. He remained until the end of the season, however on 1st June 2018 he was released. On 20th June he was introduced as a new signing for Maidenhead United.

Tevan Allen

A defender (b 10/11/96) he started his football with the Ipswich Town youth system before joining Dagenham and Redbridge. From there he went to the Bury Town football scheme at The West Suffolk College. He played for the Suffolk FA at both Under 16, May 2013 and Under 18, October 2013, levels. He started playing for Bury Town in the 2013/14 season and joined AFC on 12th February 2017 having played over 100 times for ‘The Blues” and scored six goals. He made his debut as a substitute on 14th February. He remained for the remainder of the 2016/17 season. The start of the 2017/18 season saw him return and play on 11th July 2017. He remained until 7th October 2017 when he was decided to leave and on 12th he signed once again for Bury Town. He played for them on 28th April 2018 and remained until the end of the season. On 15th June he announced he would not be returning for the 2018/19 season.
On 7th July 2018 he joined Coggeshall Town.

Stuart Alston

A sixteen year old forward when he joined the reserve side at the start of the 2004/05 season coming from youth football. He started just one Eastern Floodlight League game during that season and left midway through it. He played for Long Melford in 2005/06 and 2006/07. At the start of the 2007/08 season he was still with the Stoneylands club. In September 2008 he was with Glemsford & Cavendish United, but at the start of March 2009 he was back playing with Long Melford Reserves. In November 2009 he was appointed as a coach to the reserve side at Stoneylands. He was still there in December 2010 and in January 2011 was the Reserve team coach. At the start of the 2011/12 season he continued in that role, but had to give it up due to employment elsewhere. He was playing for Melford Reserves in March 2012. At the start of the 2012/13 season, August 2012 he was playing for Hadleigh United Reserves and working back in the area. In April 2014 he was still at Millfield and managing their Under 18′s side. The 2014/15 season saw him managing their Reserves and on 23rd March 2015 they won the Suffolk FA Senior Reserve Cup. He remained with the Millfield club throughout the 2015/16 as Reserve Team Manager. On 30th May 2016 he was appointed manager of the club's first team and he was there at the end of the 2015/16 season. He carried on for the 2016/17 season and remained until the end of the season. On 20th June 2017 he was still in charge and carried on until 13th October when he resigned his managerial position. He stayed with the club becoming head of youth development.

Wayne Anderson

A midfielder, he arrived at the club from Kings Lynn in December 2002, a tough tackling no nonsense type of player. He played his last game for the club in the F.A. Vase final of 2002/03. He signed for Wisbech Town at the start of season 2003/04, but in October 2003 re-signed for Kings Lynn. After suffering a serious knee injury he signed for Downham Town at the start of the 2005/06 season. At the start of 2006/07 he was with Fakenham Town but towards the end of December 2006 he returned to Downham Town. He was still with the Norfolk club in season 2007/08. On 23rd June 2008 he was appointed manager of Downham Town and remained there throughout the 2008/09 season. He was re-appointed for the 2009/10 season at the end of May 2009. On 29th January 2010 he was appointed as manager of Fakenham Town. He was still at Clipbush Park at the start of the 2010/11 season and continued throughout it. ‘Wayno’ was still in charge on 23rd July 2011 when AFC played a pre-season friendly against ‘The Ghosts’. At the start of the 2012/13 season he was still there and remained with them throughout the season. He was still in charge at the start of the 2013/14 season bringing his side to AFC on 16th July 2013. At the end of the 2013/14 season he led Fakenham Town to promotion. He remained with them in season 2014/15 until 25th March 2015 when he announced he was leaving to join a higher level club. He was named the same day as manager of Dereham Town Reserves, however on 20th January 2016 he had returned to manage Fakenham Town again. The 2016/17 season saw him again in charge of the club and he was still with them on 28th December 2016. On 18th April 2017 he announced his resignation from the role at 'The Ghosts'. On 30th May 2017 he was named as the assistant manager of Dereham Town and was still in the position in February 2018.

Leon Antoine

A strongly build front runner who had played for Chalfont St Peter, Stansted, Leyton, Maldon Town, Aveley, Tilbury, Borehamwood, Redbridge, Canvey Island, Braintree Town, AFC Hornchurch, Billericay Town, Heybridge Swifts, Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow Town (twice) Brentwood Town and Maldon and Tiptree. He signed for AFC on the eve of the 2012/13 season and scored on his debut on 18th August 2012. He ended the season winning the First Team Golden Boot Award netting fourteen goals. He was still with the club at the start of pre-season 2013/14 season, however on 30th July 2013 he had left and joined Harlow Town. He stayed with them until the season getting to the Ryman North play-offs. On 19th June 2014 Witham Town announced he had signed for them for the 2014/15 season, however on 10th October he had signed for Enfield Town. On 3rd January 2015 he moved again this time back to Harlow Town and played with them until the end of the season reaching the play-ff semi-finals. 11th July 2015 saw him again in a Hawks shirt playing in a pre-season fixture and he remained with them in December 2015. He was there at the end of the season when the club won promotion via the play-offs in April 2016. On 1st July 2016 the club announced he had agreed to stay for the 2016/17 season and he was playing for them on 26th December 2016. He left Harlow on 25th January and joined and played for Stanway Rovers. On 12th July 2017 he played one half of a pre-season game for AFC. In the middle of August 2017 he had joined Thurrock FC. On 7th November 2017 he was playing for Ware FC, however on the 11th December he had left. He re-joined Harlow Town for a fifth time on 19th December 2017. On 10th March 2018 he made his debut for Newmarket Town.

Alex Archer

A goalkeeper (b 24/11/93) he started with Parkside and was then with Peterborough United from 2007/08 in their youth system. Whilst there he played on loan for Haverhill Rovers (8 apps) in August 2011, Stamford (3 apps) in September 2011 and in November 2011 went on loan to Ilkeston Town (6 apps). He was released by ‘The Posh’ and had trials at Cambridge City, Kilmarnock and Histon before the start of the 2012/13 season when he joined Needham Market (11 apps) before being let go by ‘The Marketmen’ in early October 2012. He joined AFC initially for the reserves but make his first team debut on 16th October in a Ryman League Cup tie. At the end of the season he was voted as the Players Player of the Year. He continued with the club at the start of the 2013/14 season and played throughout it, being the club’s only ever present. He won the Young Player of the Year award at the end of the season. He returned for the 2014/15 season and continued his run of consecutive games and became the record holder. This stopped at 116 when on 25h October 2014 when new keeper Marcus Garnham was signed and played. On 3rd November 2014 he joined Bury Town on an initial three month loan. He came back from the loan for one game in the League Cup before going again. At the end of January 2015 the loan was made a season long one ending in May 2015. During the 2014/15 season he coached the Haverhill Rovers U18's side. On 25th May 2015 he was transfer listed by the club, however on 15th June his contract was mutually settled and he became a free agent. On 17th June 2015 he announced he had signed for Haverhill Rovers for the 2015/16 season, and he was still there in December 2015. On 19th February 2016!he asked to be released from his contract with the club it was agreed and he became a free agent. On 23rd February 2016 he had joined and played for Witham Town, however on 25th February he had joined St Neots Town where he stayed until the end of the 2015/16 season. He re-joined 'The Saints' at the start of the 2016/17 season and played for them on 26th December 2016. He was on 25th February 2017 playing for Stanway Rovers, but remained at St Neots until the end of the 2016/17 season. On 7th July 2017 he had left and joined Newmarket Town and played for them on 4th May 2018. At the end of the season he won the Supporters Player of the Year Award

Erdem Artun

A Turkish/English defensive player (b 11/11/ 82) in London, he joined Ipswich Town as a youth player in 1999. He went on loan to Doncaster Rovers in September and October 2002 where he played one League game and from September 2003 to February 2004 he joined Darlington. There was a short trial at Leyton Orient. He played for Woodbridge Town and then joined Heybridge Swifts in the summer of 2005. In the latter part of 2006 he played on loan at Wivenhoe Town. He joined AFC from Heybridge in June 2007. He was named as substitute in the league first game of the season on 18th August 2007 but never got on. On 20th August he was released from his contract due to changes in his work commitments. At the start of the 2008/09 season he was playing for Halstead Town but suffered a bad injury after only two games and did not return until the middle of March 2009. At the start of the 2009/10 season he was still with the Rosemary Lane club, but suffered a bad arm injury at the end of September 2009. On 5th January 2011 Redbridge announced that he had signed for them. He took a year out and returned to play football in the Suffolk and Ipswich League with FC Bricklayers, Waterside and then Bramford United where he played against AFC on 18th October 2014. He was still with Bramford and playing for them on 2nd September 2017. He left and on 11th November 2017 joined Henley Athletic.

Aidan Austin

A forward (b 21/07/97) and former Norwich City youth team player he joined the club on 30th November 2013 to play for the clubs’s reserve side. He had been playing for the Colne College side and previously Colchester Athletic and Stanway Rovers. He made one appearance on the bench for the club. In March 2014 he won a place at joined the Nike Global Football Academy based at the National Football Centre at St Georges Park. On 25th April 2014 he was awarded a two year contract with Nottingham Forest. He was still with them and played for their Under 21's on 21st January 2016. He was released by the City Ground club in May 2016. On 20th October 2016 he re-joined AFC and played for the club for the remainder of the 2016/17 season as they were relegated. On 25th July the club announced he had left and would be attending Nottingham Trent University. On 10th October he signed and played for Basford United.

Ryan Auger

A defender (b 09/05/94), he started his football career in the Southend United Academy joining as an eleven year-old and he signed as a professional for them in June 2013. Towards the end of the 2011/12 season he made one appearance for Tilbury and then joined Soham Town Rangers on a work experience loan. He returned to the Cambridgeshire club at the start of the 2012 season before being recalled to Roots Hall in October 2012. On 23rd February 2013 he played on loan for St Neots Town. (16 apps 2 gls) He made his one Football League appearance for ‘The Shrimpers on 26th October 2013 away against Newport County. He was released at the end of the 2013/14 season, August 2014 and joined Bishop’s Stortford the same month (14 apps 3 goals). He joined Histon on 6th February 2015 and played with them until the end of the 2014/15 season (15 apps 2 goals). He re-joined them at the start of the 2015/16 season, but on 11th March 2016 he had his contract cancelled with them and signed for Cambridge City. He remained with them until the end of the season and in July 2016 joined Bishop’s Stortford again. He signed for AFC on 9th September 2016 on a dual registration basis and made his debut the following day as a substitute and was substituted due to injury. He made another two appearances before his loan at the club was ended on 21st September 2016. On 18th November he signed on loan for Saffron Walden Town, however on 31st December 2016 he joined Bedford Town (46 app 7 gls) and was still with them on 3rd January 2018. On 3rd March 2018 he had left and signed again for Cambridge City. On 7th July 2018 Soham Town Rangers announced he had returned to them for the 2018/19 season.

Luke Avenell

A goalkeeper (b 26/10/95) who joined the club in 2013/14 having been with Colne College previously and played in the reserve set up. He left and went to Brightlingsea Regent and while there had a loan spell with FC Clacton in October and November 2014 but returned to AFC later in the year. He was named a substitute for the first team in a League Cup tie at Witham on 27th January 2015, his first selection. He came on thirty seconds before the end of the game and never touched the ball. The game went straight to penalties and his first touch for the club was to save a spot kick, he went on to save another as AFC won the tie. He played one further cup game before on 20th March 2015 he joined FC Clacton until the end of the 2014/15 season. He appeared again for 'The Seasiders' on 3rd August 2015 and was still with them on 1st November. On 13th July 2017 he was on the bench for Stanway Rovers, however on 28th July he has signed for FC Clacton. He was still with 'The Seasiders' on 13th February 2018, however on 15th March he left and joined Coggeshall Town. He begant the 2019/20 season between the sticks for Brantham Athletic.

James Axcell

A forward (b 22/12/97) he joined AFC in season 2014/15 playing a number of goals for the club's reserve side. He started his football with East Bergholt playing in the Eastern Junior Alliance, he also played for Colchester Athletic. He made his first team debut as a substitute in a Ryman League Cup tie on 18th August 2015, he remained until the end of the season when he left to go to university in Norwich. On 10th March 2018 he was playing for UEA in the Anglian Combination.
