Today AFC Sudbury hosted a practice match Derby for the U11 blues who bravely took on the U12 blues in a preseason friendly in preperations for the season ahead.
With some great end to end action between the two teams the U11s took the early lead with a great lobbing of the keeper from new lad Max on his debut start for the team. On a quick comeback the U12s quickly returned the ball up the field from kickoff to win themselves a penalty from a handball in the box to even the scores in quick success.
In a game of learning for the U11s, both Jack.A and Jack.M worked well together to help Dylan knock in 2 goals in the game and Jack.A picked up a 4th goal in the second half aswell. Unfortunately for the U11s each goal was capitalised everytime by the U12s until they went ahead in the final quarter of the game and what would of been a 6th goal for them unfortunately was called as offside. The U11s managed to fight hard together with both Noah and Jude pairing up well down the right side of the pitch creating some great opportunities for another new lad louie in the middle to get in the mix to which unfortunately was well defended by the U12s
Defense from both teams was greatly performed and the keepers played extremely well throughout.
Overall a great game played by both sides, U11s as the younger side who evenly matched the U12s more experienced team but without a single substitute to replenish playmakers.
A great learning curve for both teams this morning and already we are looking forward to a great season ahead for both teams.
U11s man of the match for the early goal and debut was....Max
On to next week the U11s take on Cornard Dynamos in another preseason friendly.
