Yes it's time to start these again

It's clearly time football came home and thus it's time to start up our weekly round up of all that is going to be coming up at Sudbury over the coming 7 days.
Since we last had one of these updates, a lot has happened, although not a vast amount of it on the football pitch. That said.. the U18's won the Suffolk FA MidWeek Cup, may have got in a spot of bother for getting a drop or two of Champagne on the ceiling of the dressing room along the way. The Girls Academy slogged through to the end of their season and registered a 3rd place finish which is no mean achievement and sets a benchmark for the coming campaign. Mark Morsley said thanks but no thanks and departed our dugout along with Tony Kinsella, Liam Aves and Paul Walker. Ben Hunter, Joe Whight and Billy Holland have all left for coastal footballing destinations. Rick Andrews and Angelo Harrop were installed as our dynamic management duo and are now busily putting the building blocks together for what proposes to be an exciting 2021-22 season and now we sit ready to go again...

So what is coming up this week down at AFC, well...

Tuesday 6th July - We will be revealing our first new signing for the AFC first team

Saturday 10th July - We have a triple header of local U18 matches down at the MEL Group Stadium. Firstly we take on Long Melford U18's at 11:45am and then we have two games beginning at 2pm, one inside on the 3G and one outside on the grass. In one we face Halstead Reserves and the other Long Melford Reserves.

The sun may or may not be shining but the welcome will be warm and we'd like to see as many of you down here as can make it. So come in, settle down and get used to some of the faces who will no doubt come to grace our first team in coming seasons.

No dating updates from me anymore of course as Karen has swapped Surrey for Suffolk now and we own a lovely property in Great Cornard together. We've got from swapping addresses to picking carpets in no time. If the 1st team can make that kind of progress this coming season then we'll have a treat in store.
