Peterborough United brushed aside

Wednesday 17th January saw our Academy girls host Peterborough United F.C in the National Youth League Cup Quarter Final a competition that the girls won at loftus road last season.

Peterborough United had a perfect record of 11 wins from 11 games this season so a tough challenge was in store.

Our Academy girls rose to the challenge as they showed all their individual talent in executing the game plan from lead coach Dave Cannon. The girls raced into a 3 goal lead at the half time break with two goals from Liv Clennell and one from Holly Kennard.

Any thoughts of a second half turn around was quickly forgotten as Liv Clennell completed her hat trick from the spot before being subbed on the hour mark following her return from injury. Kennard then took centre stage scoring the teams 5th,6th and 7th goal! Peterborough did pull a goal back but the Academy girls progressed through with a 7-1 scoreline.

A really strong team performance by each member of the squad packed with commitment and effort.

We know await the semi final draw with the following teams left in the competition
Northampton Town F.C, Portsmouth F.C , I2I Football Academy or Everton F.C.

Can our girls make it back to back national titles...!!
