The 26-year-old left back has been playing football for about 20 years, and futsal for 12 years. In Ukraine she has been a multiple futsal champion and for six years played for the women's national university team, gaining the title of Candidate of Master of Sports.
Now living with a host family in Colchester having fled Ukraine, Liubov, pronounced Loobov, was introduced to AFC Sudbury by charity ‘Changing Lives CIC’ which has also started a Women’s refugee club which trains at the club weekly. A year on from the invasion, we at AFC Sudbury are pleased to be able to make a small contribution to the lives of those displaced as Liubov takes her place within the club alongside Ukrainian AFC Sudbury Academy student Yehor Vorobei.
