AFC Sudbury Vs Framlingham U14’s

25th club appearance for Ron

Today we welcomed Framlingham to the King’s Marsh Stadium with our boys hoping to kick start their season following on from our victory against our division 1 opponents last week in the cup.

Unfortunately our boys turned up expecting an easy game and did not get started at all in the first half and were punished with 2 avoidable goals that sandwiched a great goal from Aiden.

Ron picked up the ball on the halfway line and played it out wide to Aiden who drove into the box before hitting a sublime finish past the keeper.

Half time 1-2

The second half we came out a different team, winning the ball, passing and moving it around and took control of the game.

We were soon level when Stan picked up a loose ball and played it to Riley who hit a 1st time defence splitting pass that Stanley raced onto before calmly slotting home to make it 2-2.

We were made to wait a bit longer before taking the lead but the goal finally came.

Riley took a corner on the left that Aiden attacked the space for and the loose ball popped up for George to drill home.

We had chances to extend our lead but lacked the composure in front of goal and held on for our first league victory of the season.

Man of the Match could easily have gone to any one of 4 players, Aiden picking up from where he left off last week, Stanley costing running and getting stuck in, George started slowly but took control of the game in midfield when he came back on, but today’s winner went to our newest recruit.

Playing in an unfamiliar role in CB he look calm and composed alongside both his CB partners today, win his tackles and tries to play out from the back. Well done Daniel.
